Credit/Certifications

Courses at Qalam wa Lawh are accredited by Brookhaven College, a comprehensive American community college. accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (www.sacscoc.org).

Students who wish to receive transfer credit from Brookhaven for their courses at Qalam wa Lawh should contact us at 8 weeks prior to the course start date in order to receive application instructions.

The staff at Brookhaven will assist you with the credit application process and will respond to you by email. Brookhaven will provide you with detailed credit application instructions and additional support documents that are required to apply for credit.

The cost of this credit is a flat fee based on residency and number of courses taken and not on credit hours.

Every student who successfully completes a course at Qalam wa Lawh Center may request an official transcript. Students also receive a certificate of completion and a hand painted, personalized wooden Lawh (tablet) detailing their name, course level, date of completion as well as their instructor’s name.

Equivalency and University Credit

Arabic Courses at Qalam wa Lawh are equivalent to the academic standards most University level Arabic courses. Qalam Center Beginning and Intermediate level courses are also accredited by Brookhaven College in Dallas, TX. In order to get college or university credit for courses at Qalam Center, students can either apply through Brookhaven or receive assistance from our Student Advisors in coordinating directly with their home institution to ascertain credit equivalency, the required documentation and the number of contact hours necessary for independent or study abroad credit.

Certificates of Participation: All students at Qalam wa Lawh are granted a certificate of participation from our program upon exit, regardless of the duration of their study.
