As an international Arabic Language Center in Rabat, Qalam wa Lawh is uniquely situated to help with the increasing demand for students to learn Arabic in Morocco, which has become a preferred destination for many foreigners interested in Moroccan culture and the Arabic language for many types of reasons. For this reason, Qalam’s Arabic Teacher Training program invests time and effort into training and qualifying Arabic teachers for non-native speakers through a variety of different teaching methods.

Providing qualified teachers to non-native speakers is of vast importance to the Arabic educational world, especially due to the lack of specialists in this field, as many of the teachers of non-Arabic speakers are non-specialists in applied linguistics and are not trained in the field. Educational studies indicate that the role of the teacher, in general, represents 60% of the influence in the composition of the student. Language teachers therefore should be trained in applied linguistics, and training courses should allow them the opportunity to contact the expertise in this area and to discuss the profession from the theoretical and practical side.

For this purpose, Qalam strives to develop the field of applied linguistics through the qualification and training of Arabic teachers. Qalam’s program is for all students, professors and educational professionals, as well as anyone interested in teaching the Arabic language and wishing to acquire professional competencies to teach Arabic to non-native speakers through the best approaches to teaching the Arabic language through listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
