Nutrition Plan for LaPerm Cat Breed - 2022 Guide

When we talk about emotional support animals, the first animal that pops into our minds is a dog as dogs have proven to be of great help to their owners in terms of mental assistance. They provide unconditional love and support to their owner and can learn to adapt to their owner’s needs which makes them ideal companions. A dog can be kept inside the house by getting an esa letter for housing which makes it obligatory for any landlord to allow you to keep your dog with you in the apartment. Dogs can be trusted with a number of tasks such as keeping their owner’s anxiety in check, keeping their owner calm in highly stressful situations, and playing with them in order to distract them.

Having an emotional support animal can be very helpful in keeping one's mental health in check. Emotional support animals are different from service dogs. Service dogs have to undergo special training in order to learn and be able to provide the help that their owner needs. Service dogs are ideal for people with physical disabilities. However, emotional support animals are different in terms of the services they provide to their owner. They are ideal for people with mental and psychological disorders such as anxiety issues, depression, ADHD, and many more.

While an emotional support animal letter provides unconditional love, care, and support to its owners, it is important to know that they need it too. Dogs need an appropriate amount of time for exercising and playing . It is ideal to take your dog to a dog park where it can play and interact with other dogs and people.

Registering your dog as an emotional support animal enables you to keep it with you as an official emotional support animal. It makes things easier as you are able to take them with you everywhere you like. People who suffer from anxiety can also suffer from social anxiety and their emotional support animal can be of great help in situations that can be stressful. Even though it is a highly fulfilling experience, having an emotional support animal is great because the love and support are unconditional but it comes with its cons.

One of the cons that almost everyone has to suffer from is leaving their dog back home alone. The ESA Letter allows you to take your ESA with you to areas where pets aren't allowed. There are a few exceptions where the manager is accommodating enough to allow your emotional support dog to accompany you there. Otherwise, you have to leave him back at home. It can be a highly anxious time to leave your beloved dog at home alone. But here are a few things that you can do to make your emotional support animal feel less alone.

Safety

When leaving your pet alone at home, your first priority should be its safety. You need to dog-proof your house for the safety of your pet. The electric wires hanging around can be chewed on which can cause him to get electrocuted, there could be drinks or paints or chemicals that he could drink mistakenly.

You might think of restricting him to a crate but that would not help your dog. Instead, when you let him out,he will be more energized and will run around to release all the pent-up energy. You can make your dog feel safe by making a safe space for him by setting up a dog bed with his toys where he spends his time and feels safe when you are not around.

Exercise and Walks

It is best to take your dog outside for some time before you leave for work. A long walk in the park or some running will tire your dog out in no time and it will most likely spend the rest of the day resting. This benefits in two ways. First of all, it will keep your dog resting helping you prevent destructive behavior and secondly, it will help you in getting some morning exercise which will leave you fresh and energized for the day ahead. You can also provide him with plenty of toys that will keep him occupied for the day while you are at work.

Using a Monitor

A good option to make sure that your emotional support animal is safe is by using a monitoring device. There are plenty of devices available in the market for this purpose. You can get a webcam that is connected to your phone so you can see how your dog is spending their time. This way you won't have to worry about your ESA all day long.

Mental Exercises

You can keep your dog busy by using interactive puzzles for him to solve or you can make him do a treasure hunt. Scatter some treats all over the house and it will keep the dog busy while he tries to find them all over the place. If you plan to make it a little challenging for him, you can hide the treats in places above the ground or behind unbreakable stuff. You can give him a Kong toy that is filled with peanut butter and he will keep chewing at it all day.

These are all the ways in which you can keep your animal feeling safe and happy in your absence.
