Cultural heritage as the embodiment societal identity

The preservation of heritage is an essential necessity for people who seek to preserve their own cultural identity and prove their identity in their past and present. National cultural heritage is also a source of knowledge and an important source of contemporary creativity, and it is within this framework that artists, thinkers, writers and poets take their place. The cultural heritage is not limited to monuments, documents, and archives, but also intangible expression, including folklore, music and songs, novels, and traditional science that the nation passes down through the ages – there are all expressions of culture.

With these points in mind, we will discuss this week at the Arabic Language Cafe how rich cultural heritage strengthens the identity of society. We will use the following questions:

Does the wealth of cultural heritage reflect the strength of the country’s identity?

How can cultural heritage be used to establish identity?

How can festivals and cultural events contribute to the advancement of society?
