This week’s Arabic Language Café will examine television and the culture it creates.

Television is one of the most important and influential means of mass communication. Its unique characteristics and reach have allowed television to become one the most important means of the cultural industry for its ability to attract and influence the public on a large scale.

Can television’s purpose be changed from entertainment into a means of education?

To what extent does television produce a generation of people addicted television who are intellectually idle, mentally lazy, and with a limited imagination?
