Youth and volunteer work

The energy of young people is the powerhouse of work and achievement throughout societies worldwide. Young people have the required enthusiasm and the necessary momentum to support and advance society. In recent years, volunteer work of all types has been met with an unprecedented demand by young people throughout the world. Volunteerism is sustained through these young people’s energy and benefits both society on the whole and young people in particular.

With these points in mind, we will discuss the contribution of young people to the culture of volunteering at the Arabic Language Cafe, taking into consideration the increasingly popular opinion that governments, both in developed and developing countries, no longer meet the needs of their members and communities.

Discussion Topics:

• Youth and civil society and their contribution to social development through volunteering

• How can we spread the culture of volunteering among youth in light of the decline of the role of governments in the social and health sectors?

• How do we create the conditions that motivate young people to volunteer?
