Summer 2020 Ibn Battuta Arabic Scholarship

Students from around the world say that summer is the perfect time to study abroad. Rather than working a summer job, why not travel to a new country, learn the language, and live the culture through Qalam wa Lawh's Arabic Summer Abroad program?

With Qalam's Ibn Battuta Arabic Scholarship, students are able to just that - and study for free! Qalam offers both full and partial scholarships for students to study the Arabic language in the heart of Morocco. It's a great opportunity for students to meet and connect with people from all over the world, while taking advantage of the immersive Arabic experience.

Students will study daily in intensive Arabic language courses with leading teachers in the field after being placed into their level by our team of Arabic language experts. These courses encourage students to improve their language through all four communication skills - listening, speaking, reading, and writing. But because the summer in Morocco is so pleasant, students will also be able to take part in cultural activities and academic clubs, travel throughout Morocco with our weekend trips, and live with a Moroccan host family or in our on-campus residence halls.

The Summer Session consists of four, 4-week sessions. The Scholarship covers tuition (or tuition and housing) for one of these 4 sessions. The dates will be announced with the names of the scholarship recipients, roughly one month after the deadline below.

Students interested in the scholarship for the Summer 2020 session must send in their application on or before 30 July 2019.

Upcoming Arabic scholarships for 2020-2021

Recipients for the Scholarship are chosen based on their dedication to the study of the Arabic language. Students may choose to apply for a 14-week semester session (fall or spring), or a 4-week session (summer or winter). Qalam wa Lawh awards both full and partial scholarships.

Scholarships apply to Qalam's semi-intensive Modern Standard Arabic classes, providing a total of 20 hours of Arabic study per week for recipients.
