Arabic Language Café: Multiculturalism and Integration Problems

17 October 2019

Multiculturalism is an important and frequently-used term, especially within Morocco, which is known for its diversity of Arab and Amazigh people.

However, it could be argued that the Arab mentality is often still conservative in the understanding and application of multiculturalism. Many people still believe in a sense of purity and limitations of identity and fear the economic threat of “the other,” believing in the superiority of a certain race, tribe and sect. Some people may even argue that all attempts by Arab countries to appreciate multiculturalism are just for general consumption – to polish the image of the modern state in the eyes of the international community.

We invite you to join us for the discussion at the Arabic Language Café this Thursday, 17 October 2019 at Qalam wa Lawh Center at 16:30.
